Raymond Chan has more than sixteen years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, auditing and tax. He worked at one of the Big Four accounting firms, where his last position was Senior Manager, and has an in-depth understanding of accounting standards, financial planning, audit procedures and Hong Kong taxation, matching clients' compliance needs to each stage of their business development.
He leads pre-IPO financial and tax work for enterprises seeking a listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange. Highly familiar with the Inland Revenue Department's policies, practice and procedures — in particular tax audit — he has extensive experience in resolving Hong Kong tax disputes and in advisory engagements covering offshore claims, cross-border transactions, gains on property disposal, large-scale tax audits and anti-avoidance cases. He has successfully settled tax audit and offshore-profit disputes with the IRD for multinational and listed corporations in sourcing, import/export, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and financial services, and has assisted multinational groups in obtaining Hong Kong tax residency certificates.
